As audio-based social media application Clubhouse continues to grow, its security and privacy are being scrutinized, Wired reports. Stanford Internet Observatory researchers recently found third parties could potentially track users’ actions through identifiers and chatroom identity numbers it transmitted, and a third-party website was found to be scraping and compiling audio from discussions on the app. Security Researcher Robert Potter said “we should be on our guard about our data” when it comes to smaller, newer social media platforms experiencing considerable growth.
