Facial recognition startup Clearview AI announced it has ended its partnerships with non-law enforcement entities and private companies, BuzzFeed News reports. Clearview's decision comes as it faces potential class-action lawsuits. In response to one lawsuit alleging the company violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Clearview said in legal documents filed in a state federal court it would “avoid transacting with non-governmental customers anywhere."
