A coalition of 31 civil society groups and academics called on EU lawmakers and countries to allow individual citizens to sue U.S. technology companies for violating EU rules, Reuters reports. The call comes as the EU works to finalize the Digital Markets Act, which would regulate so-called "gatekeepers" such as Apple, Alphabet's Google, Meta's Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft. "The DMA must enable users, both individually and collectively, to bring enforcement actions for violation of DMA rules before national courts," the group stated in an open letter to EU institutions.
