Chinese regulators issued standards to prevent the illegal collection and use of personal information of app users, the South China Morning Post reports. The rules published jointly by China’s Cyberspace Administration, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Public Security and State Administration for Market Regulation require app developers to publish service regulations, identify the rationale and methods of data collection, and obtain users’ consent before sharing their personal information. "The new rules generally cover all the blind spots for personal informational protection in relation to apps and draw a line for service providers," King & Partners Senior Counsel Liu Yuanxing said.
