The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance collaboration on private sector privacy issues. Through the agreement, the authorities can share information, consult on enforcement and policy, and develop compliance documents and public education efforts. Alberta IPC Jill Clayton said, “The need for collaboration to effectively enforce Canada’s privacy laws has never been greater.”
