The No Place to Hide campaign warns social media companies’ use of end-to-end encryption could lead to undetected cases of child sex abuse, the Guardian reports. Campaigners say encryption prevents law enforcement and platforms from accessing messages. “We want an assurance that (end-to-end encryption) will not enable and make it easier for child sex abusers to harm children either directly by finding and grooming them, or indirectly by circulating child sexual abuse material,” survivor Rhiannon-Faye McDonald said.
