California SB 362, the Delete Act, passed out of the Senate and moved to cross-chamber consideration. The bill brings data broker requirements and limitations, including broker registration with the California Privacy Protection Agency and a streamlined broker deletion request mechanism facilitated by the agency. "The Delete Act is based on a very simple premise: Every Californian should be able to control who has access to their personal information and what they can do with it," state Sen. Josh Becker, D-Calif., said. Editor's note: The IAPP tracks California privacy bills.
