The Cyberspace Administration of China may consider waiving security assessments for data exports involving "international trade, academic cooperation, cross-border manufacturing and marketing," so long as the data does not include personal information, Reuters reports. Data security export assessment requirements may also be reduced in limited instances involving some personal information, such as cross-border shopping and hotel reservations.
