Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro approved a law that delays noncompliance sanction provisions for the country's General Data Protection Law until Aug. 1, 2021, Hunton Andrews Kurth Privacy & Information Security Law Blog reports. Law #14,010/2020 was created to establish a legal framework for the private sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Brazilian Senate has until Aug. 27, 2020, to approve the provisional measure that would push the LGPD's implementation date to May 3, 2021.
