Brazil's Chamber of Deputies announced it voted to postpone the General Data Protection Law to Dec. 31. The delay was approved as an amendment to Provisional Measure 959/20, which will advance to the Senate for a vote before midnight Aug. 26 or else the chamber-approved provision will expire. Brazil originally voted to have the LGPD delayed to May 3, 2021, but the chamber explained that date was removed from the measure's text by its rapporteur.
