In an article for Forbes, Andrew Arnold examines the benefits of blockchain technology to mitigate the increased risk of cyberattacks and data breaches felt across the health care industry. Arnold writes, “No system is foolproof. But the traditional systems that are being used in healthcare today are woefully lacking in the security that could be available.” He writes blockchain technology offers “immutable and traceable patient records,” the “reduction of pharmaceutical fraud/theft,” “improved data exchanges in clinical trials,” and a reduction in insurance fraud.
