Belgium's Data Protection Authority has published a recommendation on data-processing activities for marketing purposes, according to Hunton Andrews Kurth's Privacy & Information Security Law Blog. The DPA offers a definition of direct marketing and includes “purchasing, renting and enriching personal data” as activities that require specific attention. The recommendation states entities should specify the reasons why data is processed and also covers topics such as data minimization, the right to object, consent, cookies and individuals’ rights.
