Belgium's data protection authority, the APD, has published its 2020-2025 strategic plan. The APD will prioritize concentration on topics within cited categories, which include specific industries, instruments and social themes, with a goal of improving Belgium's overall data protection and increasing the DPA's leadership role. With regard to instruments, the APD plans to increase its emphasis on the role of the data protection officer, legitimacy of the processing of personal data and data subject rights.
