ZDNet reports Australia's opposition party has been told the Labor government has committed to adding a right-to-delete provision into the Consumer Data Right. The amendments, which are believed to be introduced after the government's winter break, will allow consumers to determine when a company should no longer hold their data and have it done by filing a request. "This is a reform that has long been supported by consumer groups across Australia, and its passage in the next sitting period will be a great achievement," Shadow Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones said.
