ABC News reports a partnership between Amazon and New Zealand utility company Vector will result in the sharing of personal data from smart meters in the homes of 1.6 million Australian and New Zealand residences. The smart meters collect information about your energy use, which privacy advocates believe can be paired with other personal information to create a profile. In their announcement of the deal, Amazon and Vector said data will be used to "develop tailored product and pricing solutions."
