The Guardian reports Australia's government is mulling a ban on artificial intelligence technologies deemed "high-risk," including those that generate deepfakes and algorithmic bias. Potential action will be based on a report and accompanying discussion paper from the Department of Industry, Science and Resources that will focus on safe and responsible AI.
