Canada's proposed Artificial Intelligence and Data Act, contained within the omnibus Bill C-27, is "fundamentally flawed," McCarthy Tétrault Senior Counsel Barry Sookman told Parliament's Standing Committee on Industry and Technology, IT World Canada reports. Sookman said, as drafted, the AIDA will not protect the public from harms caused by AI and will stifle innovation.
