Brazil's data protection authority, the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados, released guidance for ensuring the Safe Stadium Project complies with the General Data Protection Law. The project seeks to use facial recognition technology in sports stadiums to identify individuals who may have engaged in fan violence or racism during prior events. The ANPD provided a technical note with several recommendations to ensure the personal data used for the system does not violate the LGPD.
