Connecticut State Attorney General (AG) George Jepsen says he’s urging U.S. credit card processors to roll out new technologies to prevent data breaches, Government Technology reports. Jepsen and eight other AGs wrote a letter this week to companies including MasterCard, Visa and Discover Financial Services urging them to expedite the implementation of chip and PIN technology. “Over the last few years, breaches at major retailers that involved credit and debit card information have really shown a giant spotlight at the inherent weakness and vulnerability of magnetic strip cards even when the cards are lost or stolen,” Jepsen said.
