Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Chairman Rod Sims has revealed that his office has five investigations in progress that are looking into competition and privacy concerns existing with big tech companies, like Facebook and Google, ZDNet reports. While the results of the investigation have yet to materialize, Sims said taking the platforms to court will create the appropriate regulation they'll need to abide by. "These are more important than the level of penalties," Sims said. "Once found to breach a law, it will be very difficult for a digital platform to continue with that behaviour in any effective way."
