Privacy Analyst, Zillow Group, Seattle, WA

This role will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of Zillow Group’s Privacy Program. Reporting to the Director of Privacy, you will own critical operational functions of the privacy team that will help ensure that Zillow Group products and services are privacy compliant as part of our mission to build the most trusted home-related marketplace in the world.

This position will give you the opportunity to:

  • Interface directly with product and development teams to document existing and planned data collection processes and data flows
  • Create and maintain a data inventory and related data flow diagrams and documentation
  • Assist with conducting privacy reviews and risk assessments for new and existing products and business processes and work with relevant teams to identify privacy impact mitigation strategies
  • Document and maintain records regarding privacy reviews, risk assessments, controls, and other program components
  • Track key performance indicators and other metrics to evaluate the effectiveness, growth, and value of the privacy program over time
  • Assist with conducting privacy gap analyses against our privacy framework to identify opportunities to enhance organizational privacy protections
  • Assist with preparing privacy program training materials and documentation
  • Evangelize privacy principles to achieve better privacy integration in the product development lifecycle

Who you are

  • Willingness to eschew formal, rigid requirements and embrace flexible, evolving guiding principles
  • Attention to detail and an eagerness and ability to dive into technical details of features to understand privacy implications and requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience working with software and information technology systems, preferably including experience with internet media and ad tech platforms
  • 2+ years of experience with data inventory documentation, privacy impact assessments, and data mapping
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to capture and record detailed information thoroughly and accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and track program compliance requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a great sense of humor and commitment to professionalism
  • CIPP, CIPM, CIPT and/or related certifications a plus
