You know the struggle: You want to get the information on all those important upcoming events, but you don’t want to be inundated with an insurmountable influx of e-mail messages each time you visit your inbox. Here at the IAPP, we understand that struggle as well, and so this month, our Marketing Team debuted The Buzz Weekly—our events-focused e-communication.

“We have so many exciting events coming up and new offerings at the IAPP, we want to be sure our members and others interested in the opportunities the IAPP provides have a user-friendly, go-to source for that information,” said IAPP Marketing Director Aimee O’Brien-Jeyarajan.

The Buzz Weekly is an e-mail alert packed with the most up-to-date information on the IAPP’s events and serving as the primary vehicle for delivering our event-specific news to our members and others interested in learning more about what the IAPP has to offer.

Those of you who are members likely remember receiving various announcements on upcoming events and installments of the Member News; The Buzz Weekly replaces those messages, streamlining the association’s event communications.

Want the scoop on what exciting keynotes have just been added? Need to make sure you don’t miss out on early bird discounts? It’ll be in The Buzz Weekly. Watching for announcements on pre-conference sessions, available web conferences and upcoming training dates for your IAPP privacy certification? Those are in there as well. And whether your hometown is Portland, Oregon, or Paris, France, if there’s a KnowlegeNet coming up near you, it will be included in The Buzz Weekly.

“Our goal is to provide you with information on the events and classes we have to enhance your work in the field,” O’Brien-Jeyarajan said, adding, “We’d love to hear from you with your thoughts on how you consume information and ways we can continue to improve on The Buzz Weekly to provide you with the announcements you need to get the most out of what the IAPP has to offer.”
