She noted the debate surrounding the proposed regulation “has been heating up in recent weeks” and cited concerns that the “U.S. will reap the benefits of not having to work under the burden of so much regulation.” In ‘t Veld said, “Rules can force companies into innovating” and added, “privacy is the new green.”
