The French data protection authority (CNIL) has asked Google to make undeleted payload data from its Street View project available for analysis, The New York Times reports. The move comes days after the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) announced a similar inquiry. The CNIL said that, like the ICO, it has asked the company to keep the data in question “secure while the necessary investigations are conducted.” CSO has asked the Office of the Australian Privacy Commissioner if they plan to investigate but the agency has not yet responded.
