Heather Dewey-Hagborg: Genetic Insecurities

At the IAPP's Navigate event in 2013, Heather Dewey-Hagborg, a self-described "information artist," spoke about her work in using DNA as a catalyst for art and a medium. Her videos and portraits explore the very nature of who we are as people and what we unknowingly leave behind for others to use — and maybe exploit. Some of the techniques and methods she has explored are now being used by law enforcement in attempts to identify criminals.
