U.S. TikTok users reached a $92 million preliminary class settlement with ByteDance over alleged data privacy violations, Reuters reports. The settlement, which had been in the works since August 2020, stems from TikTok's alleged collection of a "broad array of private data," according to the suit. TikTok said it did not agree with the claims but wanted no further time spent on litigation. Meanwhile, Clearview AI is willing to take Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act claims to the Supreme Court of the United States.
