CyberScoop reports public records obtained by the Just Futures Law legal project show a mobile app used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to track migrants collects large amounts of sensitive data, including personally identifiable information and geolocation data. The records show BI's SmartLINK app also collects biometric and health data, with little detail on how the data is used and stored. They indicate collected data may be retained longer than ICE has publicly disclosed.
