South African President Cyril Ramaphosa proclaimed sections of the Protection of Personal Information Act into law and will become effective June 30 and July 1. Meanwhile, the Parliament of Zimbabwe is accepting comments on the country's Cyber Security and Data Protection Bill. The bill had been published by the Clerk of Parliament May 15. Submissions must be sent in by June 26. In other news, Ghana's National Communications Authority denied breaching the privacy rights of Mobile Network Operator customers, while South African President Cyril Ramaphosa proclaimed sections of the Protection of Personal Information Act into law.
