Yukon Information and Privacy Commissioner Diane McLeod-McKay sided with a Yukon News journalist in keeping an access-to-information inquiry before the Department of Justice open, the Yukon News reports. The inquiry into documents relating to department training of staff on access requests can now continue, McLeod-McKay ruled, after it was stalled due to a challenge over response time limits. Reporter Jackie Hong said the decision “matters because it’s an issue of transparency and holding the government accountable.”
