The Verge reports Andrew Yang is set to commence the Data Dividend Project, which aims to establish the concept of data-as-property rights under U.S. privacy laws. With a focus on California residents and the California Consumer Privacy Act, the former Democratic presidential candidate is angling to get 1 million data subjects to join the initiative that he says will "pave the way for a future in which all Americans can claim their data as a property right and receive payment."
