An Illinois resident, Kate Collins, has filed a complaint against Ally Financial Inc., alleging the debt collector company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act after Collins received calls attempting to collect a debt she did not owe, the Madison County Record reports. After informing Ally Financial she did not have a loan with the company in collection, Collins continued to receive collection calls from the defendant despite being assured her number would be removed. Collins has alleged the company violated her privacy and has requested a trial be set to seek statutory damages of $500 and treble damages of up to $1,500 for each violation.
