The Canadian Press reports on the growing number of cases where individuals are asking media outlets to remove their names from previously published articles. Canada does not have an equivalent to the European Union’s “right to be forgotten,” but the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada states it has begun a review to see if the approach should be adopted in the country. An OPC spokeswoman said the office is accepting contributions from academics, advocacy groups, IT specialists and Canadian citizens, with a report on the topic coming next year.
