The White House will release a new policy that aims to create consistency amongst vendors and their storage of government data, Nextgov reports. “The increase in threats facing federal information systems demand that certain issues regarding security of information on these systems is clearly, effectively and consistently addressed in federal contracts," an Office of Management and Budget notice states. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has chosen Leidos to handle the modernization of its electronic healthcare records. “We wanted to make sure we took adequate steps to protect the information that will be on this system, as well as the privacy of health care information,” said Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Frank Kendall.
