The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has released detailed guidance for data breach contract clauses for federal agencies, Next Gov reports. The newly proposed “Improving Cybersecurity Protections in Federal Acquisition” aims to make sure federal data is protected, both inside a federally owned system or in a corporate vendor’s system. The guidance is open to comment until September 10. Once finalized, agencies’ senior privacy officers along with their chief information officers, chief acquisition officers, chief information security officers and other officials “shall immediately begin working together to apply the guidance,” the proposal states.
