Health care information technology in the U.S. has undergone considerable change since the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act came into effect in 2009. The pace of change is set to increase further as enforcement of the CMS Interoperability and Patient Access Rule and ONC Cures Act Final Rule commences in February 2021.
