The Swedish data protection authority, Datainspektionen, has announced a 35,000 euro fine against Nusvar for violating the EU General Data Protection Regulation and Credit Information Act. Mrkoll.se, a Nusvar website, unlawfully published the criminal records of an undisclosed number of users from December 2018 to April 2019. The website's activities are protected from the GDPR by a publishing certificate; however, it is still obligated to comply with the CIA, which includes GDPR references in its provisions.
