TechCrunch reports the W3C Technical Architecture Group and Privacy Interest Group updated their security and privacy questionnaire for web feature developers. “Developers should consider security and privacy early in the feature’s [life cycle].” TAG and PING write in a blog post. “Features should be secure and private by default and issues mitigated in their design.” They also caution features “may not be implemented if risks are found impossible or unsatisfactorily mitigated.” The updates to the questionnaires coincide with web browser makers increasing their efforts to prevent privacy threats.
