CBC News reports Waterloo Regional Police are considering the use of drones to assist in missing person cases and investigating car crashes. The drones will be fully operational by May 2018, and a Police Services Board report states the drones will be a faster and more efficient way to search large areas. The report also states the drones will not be used for surveillance purposes without "judicial authorization and completed privacy impact assessment."
