The Wall Street Journal reports that Walmart is set to introduce robots to its workforce. The retail giant is adding task-specific robots to stores around the U.S. in the coming year, which will give stores the ability to reallocate staff toward other projects. At least 300 stores will add machines that scan shelves for out-of-stock products. Floor-cleaning bots will be deployed in 1,500 stores, while 1,200 stores will take on conveyor belts that automatically scan and sort products as they come off trucks.
