The World Wide Web Consortium recently announced the launch of its Privacy Community Group. The new group's mission states an aim "to develop privacy-focused web standards and (application programming interfaces) to improve user privacy on the web through enhanced browser behavior." Privacy CG will discuss proposals for the addition or development of privacy-enhancing features for web platforms to implement in browsers or search engines. The group will meet twice a month via teleconference and sometimes hold face-to-face sessions to discuss proposals and other agenda items.
