The Federation of German Consumer Organisations (vzbv) is warning the creators of hit mobile app “Pokemon Go” to alter its terms of service, or face a lawsuit, Fortune reports. The vzbv said Niantic Labs needs to modify 15 clauses in the game’s user terms and privacy policy in order to fall in line with German privacy and consumer protection laws. The vzbv’s main issue with “Pokemon Go’s” terms and conditions surrounds Niantic’s right to send user data to third parties at the company’s discretion. “We think there is not a high enough level of consent in the use of data — these extended rights of giving users’ data away to third parties in circumstances, which are not sufficiently described,” said vzvb Legal Policy Officer Heiko Dünkel. The vzvb will sue Niantic if they do not make the changes by Aug. 9.
