- Reuters reports automaker Volkswagen announced a data breach affecting 3.3 million American customers or prospective customers. The company said an unauthorized third party scooped personal information about customers and interested buyers collected between 2014 and 2019 from a vendor its Audi Volkswagen brands used for digital marketing.
- Reuters also reports McDonald's revealed a data breach exposed personal information of an undisclosed number of customers and employees from the chain's locations in South Korea and Taiwan. Hackers gained access to email addresses, phone numbers and delivery addresses, according to the company.
- According to Politico, the U.K. Department of International Trade mistakenly revealed Freedom of Information logs to the news outlet via email. The messages revealed the process for vetting FOI requests.
