ZDNet reports on privacy concerns surrounding virtual reality company Oculus Rift, which Facebook purchased in March 2014. Some say its privacy policy and terms of service are “overly broad.” In a section of its privacy policy, the company relinquishes responsibility for customer privacy if data gets hacked or lost. “Given how much data the company collects on its users, such a policy could be problematic,” the report states. The company collects such data as IP address and GPS location and shares it with Facebook for advertising purposes.
