In a federal court filing in San Jose, California, Zoom Video Communications argued it is protected by federal law from lawsuits over “Zoombombings,” Bloomberg reports. The video-conferencing company is facing lawsuits alleging privacy and security flaws jeopardized the safety of its app and enabled intrusions by malicious actors. Zoom argued it is protected by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and claims should be dismissed because it “plays no role whatsoever in developing the offensive conduct.”
