She said Europe’s dependency on U.S. internet services during COVID-19 “was a wake-up call,” adding digital organizations “must take responsibility for their offerings” and the internet should be “European-regulated.” “We want competition, but we want democracy, and we reject the negative consequences of an unregulated capitalism,” she said.
