Verizon Media has launched OneSearch, a privacy-focused search engine that reportedly provides “unbiased, unfiltered search results,” Mashable reports. The search engine, available on desktop and mobile, does not use cookies, retargeting or personal profiling, and Verizon said it will not share users’ personal data with advertisers or store users’ search history. The company said it will encrypt searches and results so they cannot be tracked, and OneSearch offers an “Advanced Privacy Mode,” which provides search results that “self-destruct” in an hour. Ads shown will be based on a specific search, not the user’s cookies or browsing history, the company said.
