The vacancy notice for the position of European Data Protection Supervisor has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union. The notice is a normal part of the process to prepare for a new EDPS term. More information on the vacancy and how to apply can be found here. Deadline for applying is May 16. According to the post, "The Supervisor will be appointed for a mandate of five years; the term of office shall be renewable once." Signaling his intentions in a tweet earlier this year, current EDPS Giovanni Buttarelli said, "It is a privilege and honour to serve and protect [EU] citizens' rights. I look forward to continuing my work with the same passion [and] dedication in the years to come."
