Legislators in Salt Lake City, Utah, are considering a bill to regulate artificial intelligence surveillance company Banjo after declining a funding request, FOX13 reports. House Majority Leader Francis Gibson, R-Mapleton, said legislation would protect citizens’ privacy and limit the company’s “amount of creep.” The ACLU of Utah’s Legislative and Policy Counsel Marina Lowe supported setting parameters when “protecting the public’s right to privacy.” Banjo said it looks forward to working with officials and experts to create strong privacy and data security policies.”
