Utah Gov. Spencer Cox appointed the Department of Government Operations’ first privacy officer, Government Technology reports. Christopher Bramwell, the former Utah Department of Human Services’ director of information privacy and security, will be responsible for privacy practices within state agencies. Additionally, he will work with the newly created Personal Privacy Oversight Commission and state privacy officer on government privacy practices and recommendations. Bramwell said he is looking forward to “helping create the programs that will hold the state accountable for the use of Utahns’ personal data and information.”
