Some professional sports teams across the U.S. are trialing facial recognition technology in their stadiums, The Wall Street Journal reports. The thought behind the addition of facial recognition is for stadiums to be able to admit fans while limiting the amount of physical interaction in light of COVID-19 concerns. Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Football Club and Major League Baseball's New York Mets are among the teams either committed to or considering the use of biometric app Alclear for their teams and fans in 2021.
